Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR

This model is the completed form of the 3rd generation of the Lancer Evolution. Fundamentally, the 3rd generation Lancer Evo VII to IX are based on the 6th generation Lancer Cedia. Because these were designed with a longer wheelbase compared to the VI and earlier models of the second generation, there is much more cabin room and luggage space. This is a highly popular vehicle that brings together a high level of practicality with a new dimension of overwhelming performance.

Beginning with the IX, in particular, the comfort of the GSX series was improved by considering how the vehicle is used on public roads by regular users. The range of user choice has also grown with the addition of the group N homologation model called the GT.

Although the powerful 280 ps of the conventional Lancer Evo 4G63 engine has not changed, a new variable valve timing mechanism called MIVEC has been employed. In the suspension, the rear clearance has been reduced and active yaw control (AYC) has been used aggressively. This is characterized by an even further improvement in the intrinsic cornering capabilities.
