Daihatsu OFC-1

This is a concept car that was exhibited at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show as a light convertible sports car that is the continuation of the Daihatsu Copen. OFC is an abbreviation of Open Future Concept.

The engine has been upgraded from the Copen with a new first-generation 3-cylinder unit that combines with a 7-speed paddle shift CVT. Equipped with suspension that electronically controls the damper adjustment, together with 165/50R17 tires and 4-wheel disc brakes, this car promises driving pleasure unlike any other kei car. The electric-powered roof is of a fresh glass construction. The roof itself is divided into 3 parts, and leaves plenty of space available in the trunk even when the roof is open.

The attention to service shines down to the little details, with features such as a liquid crystal sunshade that can be made transparent or opaque to light at the touch of a switch, and an easy entry system where the driver's seat slides back and the steering wheel tilts when the door is opened. This is one car to look forward to for its actual debut.
