Alfa Brera Sky Window 3.2 JTS Q4

The Alfa Romeo Brera made a spectacular debut at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show as a concept car. Fans from around the world who saw its silhouette pressed strongly for the vehicle to be commercialized, and a production model was released in 2006 in response to that demand.

The highly regarded styling was created by Italdesign, headed by designer Giorgetto Giugiaro who worked on some of the famous cars in the history of Alfa Romeo, including the Giulia Sprint GT in the 60’s and the Alfetta GT in the 70’s. The flavour of the design was quickly utilised in the minor change of the 156 released in 2003, and an identical fascia design was also used in the 159 that followed. This has now emerged as the new family face.

Although the concept car model was a front-engine rear-drive with a linear mounted V8 engine, the production model is based on the same transverse-mounted front-engine front-drive as the 159, but configured as a full time 4WD coupe capable of seating 4 people.

Two types of engines are available, a 2.2L inline four and a 3.2L V6. Both engines feature the direction injection system called JTS. The top of the line model 3.2 JTS Q4, which combines a full time 4WD and an engine boasting 260 ps, offers nimble acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.

Above all else, the biggest charm of the Brera, whether it be the 2.2 or the 3.2, is the luxurious feel of driving an Alfa Romeo - it simply “feels great”.
