Subaru IMPREZA WRX STI

The debut of the third generation Impreza in May 2007 was supplemented by the long-awaited STI version. Although the base body was changed from the 4-door sedan of the pervious generations to a 5-door hatchback, the pursuit of "the pleasure of driving at will" has not changed since the first generation.

While the overall length has been reduced by approx 50 mm compared to the last model of the previous generation, the wheelbase has been increased by 100 mm, the front tread width increased by 40 mm, and the rear tread width increased by 35 mm, ensuring superior handling and stability. The 1994cc engine is fitted with dual active valve control system (AVCS) and twin scroll turbo. The STI is also fitted with SI-Drive, which enables the output performance to be controlled using a manual dial.

The rear suspension uses a newly developed double wishbone system. The drive-train has also evolved to the next level, with features such as the addition of driver-controlled center differential (DCCD) to the AWD system and a Subaru-manufactured 6-speed transmission.
