Renault Clio Renault Sport V6 24V

Newly established in 1973 with the purchase of the Alpine brand that had previously existed as a semi-works team of Renault, Renaultsport has been successful in events such as Renault one make races, F1, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The most memorable of the Renaultsport was the Renault 5 Turbo that took the WRC by storm at the start of the 80s. Based on the Renault 5 front-engine front-drive compact hatchback, this gallant figure that sported a mid-ship engine and flashy wide fender continued to be talked about even after its retirement, with a successor vehicle going on sale in 2000. This is the Clio Renaultsport V6.

The configuration is based on the compact “Clio” hatchback, and features a mid-engine layout exactly like the Renault 5 Turbo. The 3L V6 engine mounted behind the driver produces 230 ps. Although the body shell, front hood, roof, and tail gate continue to use unmodified Clio parts, the specialised overfender that wraps around the fat 205/50ZR17 front and 235/45ZR17 rear tyres marks the return of the aggressive past. Production is carried out at the TWR factory which also used to be the base of the Arrows F1.
